Another Ashland Treasure: Dancing People Company performs at the Green Show during the Oregon Shakespear Festival on June 25, 2013. We enjoyed this exceptionally delightful performance by the local professional company.

Classes are offered during SummerDANCE! with this exciting group of performers.

Ashland is quick to reveal its treasures. From open fields of green green grass to shops of handmade silks, outdoor music and theater to indoor plays, there is quaint beauty everywhere. And community. Intentional and casual. It is a powerful force here that is palpable. Friends Wendy Fullerton and Tony Henthorn have just settled into a 12 acre jewel on the slopes across from Mt. Ashland. The pastoral views in every direction lend one’s heart to healing and wholeness. Wendy’s gift to me to celebrate renewal on starting my 60th year was a visit to this soul soothing land.

Chanting and drum circles, qigong in a private redwood grove, ecstatic dance where you can sway to your interior rhythms or fall into contact improv … a women’s clothing optional night at the local hot springs where a bevy of mermaids hung out under the stars and super moon, combing each others hair, kneading knots out of soft pale shoulders, swimming in the cool pool under Ganesh’s protective gaze. These are just a few of the tribal gatherings we tasted during my 7 days.

People here know how to live, relate, relish and relax.
